Pulling on the lead.
Any many more!!
Firstly I am a trained behaviourist, I have an Advanced level 4 Diploma in Canine Behaviour with the BCCS. (British College of Canine Studies.) I also have a BCCS Diploma in Canine Health and Nutrition. And also a Certificate in Holistic Health for Dogs. BCCS courses are accredited and approved by PETbc.
Anyone can call themselves a Behaviourist or dog trainer, so please check that a qualification has been attained by contacting the relevant qualification body.
A Behavioural Therapist is best placed to help the owners get back on track, sorting out why the behaviour is occurring and putting recommendations in place to turn around the unwanted behaviour and improve communication with their dog. As a qualified behaviourist I look at the entire picture surrounding the dog and its environment to get down to the origins of the behaviour and treat the root cause rather than trying to patch it up.
What I offer as a Behaviourist. 1-1 consultations with the client at their home with their dog/dogs. Each consultation will be bespoke and tailored to the client’s individual needs and the needs of the dog involved. My aim is to improve the all-round relationship between dog and owner, improve effective communication and understanding of dog behaviours and needs, put recommendations in place to rectify, turnaround and manage any behavioural problem that the owner may be dealing with. Each consultation takes between 2-4 hours.
After which I can be contacted via phone or e-mail with any questions or queries.
